A little farther up the road we lucked out again, Bob Waldmire was home. There is one great advantage to traveling in the winter; you get to visit extensively with great people along the way. Bob is a terrific guy! We had a wonderful visit and learned a lot. We pray that all of his dreams for the Visitors Center come true. He got us fired up about all his plans, when we left we found ourselves wanting to retire, move to Hackberry, and help him out. Unfortunately, the real world brought us back to our senses. Bob, please don’t give up! We look forward to getting back for another, longer visit with a really unique guy. We made our camp in Kingman, as usual, but didn’t have time to get into town.

Bob Waldmire (long time friend) - Hackberry, Arizona

Bob is a renowned artist and has relocated to his native Illinois to complete a book on his Dad Ed, who is credited with inventing the corn dog.

We made our camp in Adelanto, CA the next day (west of Victorville). We are now done with our exploring of the Mother Road for this trip. As always, we are saddened to be leaving the slow pace of America’s Main Street and returning to the crazed reality of life today. Until next trip we will be “getting our kicks” through pictures, books, newsletters, tapes and memories.
