CAC Friend Cheryl and her husband Earl were enjoying life traveling Route 66 in their RV when tragedy struck. Cheryl was hit by a car and died just a few days later.
Cheryl joined the CAC Friends mail list just over a year ago and many of the CAC Friends have enjoyed swapping with her - she posted stories of her travels as she crossed the country. We will sorely miss her postings.
Cheryl also took the time to be a Shareacard Friend Who Cares - Sending her hand crafted cards to the terminally ill as she traveled. She took the time to care, even while on the road. Her card was just received by this month’s Shareacard feature, Barb. She was touched by the cord and the sweet things Cheryl had to share, and saddened by the fact she has passed on.
Cheryl will be very much missed and our deepest sympathy goes to her husband Earl, their family and all the new and old friends she met along Route 66 who are mourning her loss - we mourn with you.
Few of us had met her
We didn’t know her face
But deep within our hearts
She filled a special place
She was a friend to all
She met along the way
She loved the life she had
And cherished every day.
We all became a part
Of the travels she would share
And no matter how busy
She always took the time to care.
Her trip down Route 66
Was soon to be her last
No one saw the fork in the road
It came upon her too fast.
Now suddenly she’s gone from us
On a path too far away
But we will all be together
As friends forever one day.
God bless you Cheryl.

In Memory of Earl Cory’s lovely wife Cheryl. My wife Lynde and I had the pleasure of meeting the Corys on March 23rd, 2001 in Laughlin, NV during the Gambler’s Classic run. Earl and Cheryl were vacationing and during their return trip home, Cheryl was hit by another motorist while exiting their Corvette. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Earl.
